We realise that we need to focus on what is important for human well-being, and less unilaterally on material growth and profit. In what kind of economy and society do we want to work, live and live together? What clear requirements and standards do we set for business and economic development in the years to come? These questions are turning our lives upside down.
We must realise that we are moving to a different type of society. The industrial model focused on material growth and consumption is coming to an end. This was at the expense of natural and human resources. It is increasingly moving towards an economy focused on human well-being, living in an ecologically healthy environment where the emphasis is on qualitative or selective growth.
These developments affect politics, the legal system, the life and work of groups of people and individuals. These, together with our economic thinking, form the basic system for our lives. Changes in those elements change that basic system. Therefore, economic thinking needs to change.
