The craziness behind the front door of organisations

Directors, managers are responsible for the ins and outs of their organisation or department. Organisations are full of change processes. When one project is over, the next one is on your plate.

And you are already so busy: with the daily routine, with dealing with illness, with dissatisfied employees, with the meeting that starts at 10 o’clock, with the report that has to be ready at 11 o’clock, with…. And then comes that time-consuming ‘change process’. And that is one of so many, which you know rarely make a difference!

The so-called safety of the old familiar, for the way we have always done it, is usually the way to tackle the business-as-usual or the project. The result: failed projects, annual plans that don’t materialise, dissatisfaction among employees who want to develop themselves as well as among the managers on whose plate it falls. The delusion of the day in business-as-usual only grows. Everything is mixed up, following each other at breakneck speed.

And then those climate guys come along. What we all have to do then! And that’s really all on top of all we don’t already do! We have to perform, meet commitments, meet our kpi’s, do what the boss says. And the crazy thing is that we think we are doing it all right. This is how we keep the craziness going.
